OUR PROGRAMS

Elite Cosmetology School programs are designed to give our students the best background and experience to meet the needs of a demanding profession in cosmetology. Thanks to our intensive theory, skill development and business development courses, our students graduate better prepared for life in the industry than many of today’s working professionals.

COSMETOLOGY

Cosmetology is a 1600 clocked hour course, as required by the State of California to apply for the license examination. The program consists of theory, practical training and technical instruction including all practices of cosmetology, including training in courtesy and professional attitude in working with the public. Performing work on a variety of people each day, you will be assisting them with shampoo & cut, perm, color & styling, manicures, pedicures, facials, & waxing.

BARBERING

Barbering is a 1500 clocked hour course, as required in order to apply for the license examination. The program consists of theory, practical training and technical instruction. At Elite, you will receive the guidance you need and the hands-on training  you deserve. You will learn everything from precision haircutting, including fades, shape ups, and color, along with shaving and grooming. In addition to all this you will learn the personal and business skills you need to build a career in this booming industry.

ESTHETICIAN

Esthetician (skin care) is a 600 clocked hour course, as required by the State of California to apply for the license examination. The program consists of theory, practical training and technical instruction including all practices of skin care, including training in courtesy and professional attitude in working with the public. It includes performing several types of facials, micro-derm abrasion, make-up application and waxing.

Enrollment Requirements

Prerequisites for admission include:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. All Students, no matter their previous education, must take a Placement Exam at Elite Cosmetology School
3. Photo ID
4. Social Security Card or proof of Eligible non-citizen status

Enrollment Process

1. Campus Tour.
2. Complete an Admissions Interview.
3. Review a copy of our School Catalog.
4. Take the Placement Exam at Elite Cosmetology School.
5. Complete and return the Admission Application with your $100.00 (non-refundable) Registration Fee.
6. If applying for Financial Aid; an appointment with our Financial Aid Office will be necessary.
7. Complete the Enrollment Agreement.
8. Attend Orientation.

Financial Aid Timeline

The first step in applying for Title IV Federal Financial Aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov   The Federal School Code for Elite Cosmetology School is 041754.

Additionally, the student (or parent if applicable) may need to complete any one or all of the following:

  • Loan entrance counseling
  • Authorization form
  • Promissory note
  • Verification worksheet(s)

Upon completion of the FAFSA, the student is given an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number. The EFC is used to determine how much and what kind of financial aid a student is eligible for. In addition to the EFC, the direct and indirect costs of the program, enrollment status, length of enrollment, and funds available at the Institution will also impact award amounts. The Financial Aid office will provide entrance and exit counseling (as needed) utilizing the Department of Education online website applications at www.studentloans.gov

To complete the FAFSA the Student needs an FSA ID (user name and password) — https://fafsa.ed.gov/ ( Please apply 3 (three) days before you want to file the FAFSA.)
b. If the student is a dependent, then the parent who signs the FAFSA also needs an FSA ID.

When to Apply:
Earliest date to apply is October 1st

What type of Financial Aid is Available with the FAFSA?

  1. Federal Pell grant
  2. Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
  3. Federal Direct Stafford Loan

How do I remain eligible for Financial Aid? Remain above 70% cumulative Grade Point Average / Remain above 67% attendance
Complete course within 150% of published time frame.

Military TA & the GI Bill®

The Military Liaison/Financial Aid specialist office is located in the Administration office. The Institutions Military Liaison can assist those Service members seeking information on the TA Program, Title IV funding, and VA education benefits. In addition, the Military Liaison is able to assist Service members with information on academic/ financial aid counseling and advising, along with access to information relating to disability counseling, completion of course and job search support (placement).

All Active-Duty military applicants are directed to receive approval from their ESO, military counselor or Service, PRIOR to enrollment.

Military Tuition Assistance Program (TA)

The Military Tuition Assistance program is available to active duty, National Guard and Reserve Component service members. Your service branch pays your tuition directly to the school. Service members need to first check with an education counselor for the specifics involving TA by visiting their local installation education office or by going online to a virtual education center.

To be eligible for TA, an enlisted service member must have enough time remaining in service to complete the course for which he or she has applied. After the completion of a course, a Service member using TA must fulfill a service obligation that runs parallel with – not in addition to – any existing service obligation. Each military branch has its own TA application form and procedures.
